As part of Futur En Seine Paris, a team of environment designers and I created the design proposal 1, 2, 3 Soleil. Its aim is to nurture civic participation, sustainability and a shared identity in a multicultural part of Paris which is to become home of Europe’s largest university centre for the Humanities.
Through interactions with local residents during our site visit, emotion mapping and Appreciative Enquiry workshops we created an urban design concept centered around communal energy creation and storage.
Direct interaction with the interactive tiles such as footfall or play gives users direct feedback through light. Moreover, its connection to Open Data software allows for public monitoring, and examining the design’s success.
